Ann Moore, Senior Research AssociateAnn Moore joined AGI in March 2004. Dr. Moore received her Ph.D. in sociology with a specialization in demography from the University of Texas in 2004. Her dissertation was a qualitative study on female control at sexual debut in Brazil. She received her M.A. in Latin American studies from the same institution and earned her B.A. in Latin American Studies and economics from Smith College in 1996. She has co-authored both quantitative and qualitative work on domestic and international reproductive health issues. She has worked for the Texas Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League (TARAL) and has volunteered extensively with Population Connection and a number of abortion assistance funds. She has served on the board of directors for the National Network of Abortion Funds and Student Pugwash, USA. Dr. Moore is a member of the Population Association of America, the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population, the Associação Brasileiro de Estudos de População, the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality, the Latin American Studies Association and the Southern Demographic Association.
